Good News Today

Ecclesiastes 4:10 If either of them falls, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Friends, the good news today says BRETHREN HUMBLE OURSELF IN THE EYES OF GOD.

Today, I would like to tell a story I picked up on the net. One brother was involved in a startup company. As the CEO, he has invested a lot in the company and employed several people. When the startup was in a very shaky state financially, he realized that there was not enough money for everybody’s salary.

Now as the CEO, he should get the first pickings, but he decided he would lead as a servant-leader. He gave others their salary but did not take one himself.

This went against what he liked, but he chose to live for all rather than live for himself. He humbled himself and by doing so prospered the others. He could have just fired one or two employees or lessened their salaries. Instead, he chose to sacrifice his own.

Friends, this man valued the livelihood of others more than his own. The Lord then used this fiscally tight time to reveal His love through this CEO and test and train the CEO. About six months later, God turned things around and things prospered.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

Hebrews 10:24–25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the day drawing nearer.”

The good news today says WE NEED TO ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER TO GROW CLOSER TO GOD.

We live to help others grow in their relationship with God, to stir them up toward love and good works. We meet with each other and we encourage one another in faith.

Every Sunday, maybe at other times during the week, let our motivation be how can we glorify God by encouraging the people in the church.

Brethren, let’s pray that we would stir up one another to love and good works. Encourage one another in Christ, every time we gather together. Motivating and encouraging one another to grow in relationship with God, to make our love known in the world.

Friends, ask God to help us to meet together regularly. Not just a matter of convenience but a matter of priority in our lives.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

1 Cor 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Friends, the good news today says CHRISTIANS ARE URGE TO HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

We are all called by God to be holy and set apart unto Him but we are also called into fellowship with our Christian brothers and sisters in Christ. We are urged to agree and the same judgment.

The divisions and disunity are equally conspicuous in the Body of Christ today, and Paul in the above verse exhorts each one of us to agree amongst ourselves so that there is no disharmony, disagreement, or dissention amongst us.

This call for singleness of heart is founded upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and not our preferred preacher or favored ministry. We are to have the mind of Christ.

Friends, we are to develop the same attitude of heart toward each other that Christ Jesus has for us so that with one mind and one voice we may glorify our God Who is in heaven.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

John 14:12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.

Friends, the good news today says GOD CALLED US FOR GREATER WORKS.

We are called to be God’s partners, and to do evangelism. To spread the good news. But to do that great work requires great faith in God.

Don’t believe in things we cannot do but believe in things God can do. We may not qualify, and we may not have the resources but it’s ok, God can provide and great faith provides good favor.

Friends, God is counting on us as His partner.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

Genesis 22:18 – In your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.

Friends, the good news today says TO LAY ASIDE ALL SELF-DEPENDENCE AND LIVE OUR LIVES IN TOTAL DEPENDENCE
ON THE LORD.

Abraham, who is often called ‘the father of faith’, is a wonderful example of a man who trusted God’s Word, even though most of the promises he hoped for would not be fulfilled until many centuries after his death.

As members of Christ’s Body, we are identified in Scripture as the spiritual seed of Abraham and if we are to learn the lesson of faith that Abraham demonstrated, we should lay aside all self-dependence and live our lives in total dependence on the Lord.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Abraham’s faith rested on the Lord Who made certain promises to him. Abraham believed in God and acted on all that God had said and promised.

We Christians have the full and final revelation of God in the completed Scriptures, which gives us many, many more precious promises. These promises come from the mouth of the same holy God in Christ Jesus our Saviour.

We should believe God’s Word and trust in the promises of God completely, for without faith it is impossible to please Him. Let’s all develop an inward faith in God’s Word and demonstrate it outwardly and openly by our actions, knowing that this is precious to the Father-heart of God.

Friends, let’s all demonstrate the power of indwelling God’s spirit in us.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

Joshua 24:1 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

Friends, the good news today says GOD NOTICES AND CARES DEEPLY FOR ALL WHO SERVE HIM.

When it comes to following and serving the Lord, the right, the power, and the privilege to decide have been left in our hands by God. We are not forced or bound like slaves to do anything we do not want to do; however, we are advised to do so for our benefit and the benefit of others.

Let’s be reminded that serving God is not trying to win the approval of people, but of God (Galatians 1:10)
As children of God we ought to serve Him with whatever gifts He has blessed us with and, just like children who want to please their parents, we should be determined to excel in every area that we may be placed in. This will require serious commitment, time, and consistent work.

Friends, the work of a faithful servant adds value and weight to the master’s name.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

1 John 3:11″ For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: we should love one another”

Friends, the good news today say MAKE LOVE OUR PRIORITY.

The Bible commands, we should love one another (1 John 3:11). But, in most cases, we spend time on what we deem important, time with family and friends, work, prayer, serving the poor, fighting for rights, and protesting wrongs. But the Scripture reminds us, “And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing” (1 Cor. 13:3).

Even though we have the freedom to set our priorities, Jesus made a point of defining certain ones of them for us: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:37-39).

Jesus gave love priority over all other Christian virtues. Every thought, response, and act of goodwill must first pass through the fine filter of love, or it means nothing at all.

Friends, we are encouraged to realize that “our responsibility as Christians is to discover the real meaning of love and seek passionately to live it out in our daily lives.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Mark 10:6 But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Friends, the good news today says ANNIVERSARY IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO REMEMBER WHAT
GOD HAS DONE FOR US.

Today, we celebrate our 41st anniversary. During these years, God PROVIDED US with everything, PROMOTED us, PROTECTED us, and BLESSED us. I’m thinking, it’s worth sharing the things we learned from all these wonderful years. Allow me to share some of the truths we’ve discovered over almost half a century. We plan to continue these learnings to follow for the rest of our days.

  1. Get in Church and Stay in Church. When you attend church with your spouse, you have opportunities to serve together. Serving is a great way to stay in tune with one another, and it helps you both keep Christ at the center of your relationship.
  2. Never Stop Courting. Show your spouse how much you love her and prioritize time with her by continuing to court her.
  3. Forgive and Forgive Some More. This truth separates Christian marriages from the rest of the marriages in the
world. We practice forgiveness because our Savior forgave us.
  4. Build Each Other Up. Affirm your spouse. Keep building one another up daily.
  5. Don’t Fight Just to Win. Winning is merely the result of personal preference. We can avoid a lot of arguments by learning to let go of things that are only issues of personal preference and not critical matters.
  6. Be Slow to Speak and Quick to Listen. We show wisdom when we simply listen and stay quiet until our spouse finished speaking.
  7. Choose the Appropriate Time to Talk. Always be patient and wait until your spouse can talk calmly.

Friends, the best advice I can give is to BIND EVERYTHING IN LOVE.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

Matthew 5:16, NIV “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Friends, the good news today says WE ARE TALENTED, USE IT TO ADVANCE THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

The Bible encourages Christians to be “faithful stewards” of our God-given gifts. Using our talents for God can help us find purposeful work and share God’s love. Depending on what our gifts are, we will most likely be using those talents in different ways.

There are many ways talents can be used to show glory to God. If we are gifted in teaching, perhaps we can teach a Sunday school class at the church. If we are an artist, we might use it to create art that depicts events or that people can relate to. Do we find it easy to converse with others? Consider using that gift to ask someone lonely to lunch.

We need to look for opportunities to serve God and use our gifts in our daily life. Using our talents for God might not look the same every day. Some days we may notice exactly how God is working through our talents; other days it may be more behind closed doors and we may not see how our gift is affecting others.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.

Good News Today

EPHESIANS 4:29 NKJV
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Friends, the good news today says AS BELIEVERS, WE NEED TO UPLIFT OTHERS.

If you have been reading my GOOD NEWS TODAY,
then you have read I use the word “edify”. To edify means to uplift and that is exactly what all of us as children of God have been called to do, to uplift. In the Great Commission, we are to teach all people to observe all things that Christ commanded us. When we abide by God’s instructions, we are choosing to live for the better. When we carry out the task that we have been commissioned to do by Christ, we are choosing to uplift others.

Friends, when we uplift those that are around us, we show that we truly do love them.

God bless us all. Let’s keep the faith.
